Lost or Stolen Instrument Procedure

If a rental instrument is lost or stolen, please follow these steps:

1. Gather Instrument Information
Locate your rental contract and note the instrument size, model, serial number, and listed value.

2. Retrace Your Steps
If the instrument was last seen at school or on a school bus, contact the school office or orchestra teacher, as instruments are often mistakenly taken home by another student.

3. File a Police Report
If the instrument cannot be located, file a police report with the local police department where the loss occurred. The report must include the instrument’s identifying information.

4. Provide the Police Report
A copy of the police report must be provided to Vince Violins within 30 days of filing.

Once the report has been received and verified, Vince Violins will assist in arranging a replacement instrument outfit comparable to the original, subject to availability and applicable replacement charges.
